On a side note, if you want a portable to-do list that you can run from a flash drive why not take a look at Smart To-Do List?

Hopefully just in time, here is a to-do list for Thanksgiving Day preparation. The list is by no means exhaustive and I would appreciate any additions in the comments if you’d like! You can download the list as a template that can be used with Smart To-Do List software. The list comes complete with tags that will allow it to be filtered by the number of days remaining: @TenDays, @OneWeek, and @ThanksgivingWeek. Of course you can easily add or remove items to the list as necessary.

The new version of Foxit Reader has a tabbed interface. This is a pretty sweet addition and it’s about time. Why doesn’t every application do this? The tabs are optional if you would rather have separate applications open.

Prior to installing the new version I decided to check the memory consumption of the old version by opening 3 different PDF files at once. As you can see below the total memory used is 32,388 K.

The memory usage of the new tabbed interface version with the same 3 files open was less: 25,548 K.

There are other new features in this version as well. The magnifier tool, shown below, is pretty nice. There is also a built in multimedia player for special multimedia e-books.

The only con that I’ve found so far is the ad that is located in the upper right-hand corner. This ad changes every once in a while and can be distracting.

Maybe this is common information that everyone knows, but I’d never seen it before last week when I did it by accident. When you right-click a folder icon in your Firefox Bookmarks and select Copy you get the folder name, the URLs under that folder name, as well as the additional folders under that folder and their content all placed on the clipboard.
For example, if I select the folder shown below and select Copy it will place the Cooking folder title on the clipboard as well as the URLs of the items in the folder.

Here’s what can be found on the clipboard:

One other great use of this tip is that if you right-click any of the items at the top of the Bookmarks folder, such as Organize Bookmarks and select Copy, your complete library of bookmark URLs will be placed on the clipboard as well as the folder names.

This appears to only work in Firefox 3.0 (I have 3.0.3 at the moment). I tried it on my laptop that still has 2.something and it did not work.

Here’s a quick tip on why Firefox is such a great browser. Keywords! Whenever you add a favorite to your Bookmarks you can then add a keyword to make it super easy to re-visit. Here’s an example of one I have to visit Lifehacker.com:

Now all I have to do in order to visit Lifehacker is type lh into the address bar and press enter, Firefox does the rest.
To add a keyword for a bookmark simply right click it and select Properties from the popup menu. You can then enter a keyword like the example above.
